You are not alone

This morning, in the quietness of the wee hours, I reveled in the moment.  Sleeping children, sleeping and snoring dog, the rumble of distant trucks on the highway, the newspaper delivery person, driving on the wrong side of the road tossing newspapers onto driveways.

This morning I was alone… but surrounded.

We are never really alone.

If you are feeling alone.  You are the only one that can change that, if you are feeling alone it is because of your perception of your situation or circumstances.  If there is no other truth there is this… You are not alone.

You are not alone in how you feel

You are not alone
You are not alone

You are not alone in your particular circumstances

You are not alone in your situation

You are not alone where ever you are…

Let’s just set aside the fact that God and the universe surround you like a tangible film of support and resources… let’s set aside everything except this moment… and you.

Be still.

This is a great quote by Deepak Chopra,

“The present moment dies every moment to become the past , is reborn every moment into the future. All experience is now. Now never ends.”

Does that make sense. My mother once told me when she quite smoking cigarettes after 40 odd years of smoking, that it was easy. She just realized that the urge to smoke would come and it was pass. The trick was to let it go and not hold on…

Sitting quietly, can you concentrate on now… this very moment.

Consider how precious this moment is and cherish it, then allow it to become the past and move forward.

Many of our challenges are so difficult, not because a goal we set has insurmountable obstacles, but because we can’t climb such a steep mountain pulling so much of our past with us.

Let it go

If you feel alienated, PLEASE REALIZE YOU ARE NOT!  You are like me.  You are like my neighbor.  You are like my child.  We feel what we tell ourselves is safe to feel… Just like blaming someone or something or something in the past for how you feel today.

Renounce it.  Let it go.

Take control of your life.  Realize that you are not alone.  Realize that you matter.  Realize that….  in the great words of AA Milne: “If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together… there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart… I’ll always be with you.”
