The Collection of What you Need to Know to Change Everything

Due to circumstances beyond our control…

I think it’s interesting how much we THINK we control versus how much we really control.

Learn from the past, set vivid, detailed goals for the future, and live in the only moment of time over which you have any control: now.
Denis Waitley

I have a very strict gun control policy: if there’s a gun around, I want to be in control of it.
Clint Eastwood

As your faith is strengthened you will find that there is no longer the need to have a sense of control, that things will flow as they will, and that you will flow with them, to your great delight and benefit.
Emmanuel Teney

I do not want to foresee the future. I am concerned with taking care of the present. God has given me no control over the moment following.
Mahatma Gandhi

You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.
Brian Tracy

In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.
Tony Robbins

Never give up and don’t ask why because every situation does not need an answer. I’m a firm believer that I don’t worry about anything I can’t control.
Eric Davis

You realize you have no control over how you’re perceived.
Chuck Palahniuk

Many times we need to depend on people and we feel like they may have let us down.  My suggestion is to think, learn and be mindful.  Most times when other people let us down it’s not a personal affront, they simply didn’t have the same priorities.  They had to juggle several things or maybe even something else came up, the point is, their commitment to you, has a certain priority in their life… and you have no control over that.

That is their reality, not yours.   You have control over what you think and how you react and what you allow yourself to continue to think about and yes… stew.

Yesterday I was talking to someone who was complaining about their job.  They feel unappreciated, under valued and overworked.  This person felt like it was her employers responsibility to make her feel better about her job.  To create a better work environment.

I smiled.

Is it really her employer’s job to make sure she’s happy?  Many employers do go out of their way to create a nurturing, fun and creative environment, and I suspect many more don’t.  Her employer is only responsible for paying her the wages that she earned.  She is responsible for her happiness.   After some more discussion she understand her three choices: Continue to complain, Decide to think differently about her job, Take action steps to find a new job.

Whether you are struggling with a job you dislike, or an ex-husband that is unreliable about picking up the kids, we all have three choices:  complain, think differently, take action steps.

Personally, I find thinking differently AND taking action steps more to my liking.  I ALWAYS look for solutions.  ALWAYS.  Some are easy, some aren’t.

Fact:  If you don’t open your eyes… you won’t see anything.

Everyone thinks differently. Some people see the whole picture immediately and the solutions to problems in every moment of every day while others need to work it out on a step by step basis, only reaching the whole solution after each step along the way has been properly documented.  In both cases, both people ARE LOOKING FOR SOLUTIONS.

You are your own solution.  You are in control of what you think, what you allow yourself to say to yourself and your value of your time and your worth.  You decide FOR YOU, what circumstances you will allow to affect you… and recognize the circumstances that are beyond your control… and let go.
